Beskrivelse
This and other bronze figurines were found during excavations in 1799 in Tranquebar during the construction of new buildings. The related story of the find testifies to how local Brahmins expected Danish governor Peter Anker to interact by donating gifts to their temple. The bronzes most likely date to the Chola Dynasty (c. 850-1270).
