Two bowl containers of coiled basketry
To the left: Bowl-shaped container with flat lid manufactured in plain coiled basketry made from a framework of thinly-cut flexible twigs and wound around with cotton string. The lid is held together with red cotton. The basketry container is moulded inside to a perfect fit for the low foot of the tea bowl. to the right: Bowl container.
The lid is fastened to the container part with a dark brown leather strap whichcontinues across the lid and can be fastened to a small leather strap on the side of the container. A dark brown cotton string is used in the winding, alternating with a yellow-grey one, forming a meander pattern on both lid and base.
