Folding chair, Mongolia
A folding chair constructed with eight wooden poles with a seat of thin, plaited rope. Two parallel horizontal poles at the top and bottom are joined to another two pairs of cross-laid poles extending vertically between the horizontal ones. At the point where the vertical poles cross, a heavy iron spike is hammered through, functioning as a large nail, and a steel loop is fixed around one of the cross-pieces, possibly for hanging up the chair when folded. Height: 36 cm; Width (unfolded): 38 cm
