Painted wooden throne for a grand lama.The motif is a representation of the yizhin norbu (Tib.) or cintamani (Sanskr.), the Wish Granting Jewel of the Seven Treasures of Royalty, depicted as a bouquet of six elongated jewels set on a throne of a pink lotus, and against a green background. The motif is framed along the edges by a border illustrating heaven and earth with images of suns, clouds and herbs in the colours yellow, brown, red and grey; the painting is varnished. The throne back is held together, like the previous examples, by two cross-lists on the back surface. It has a matching cover, Cat. no. 39.
