Chest, Mongolia
Wooden chest or box, painted red and varnished. The centre motif on the front depicts a scene with a group of lamas surrounded by dear or antelopes. As with the above chests, the motif is in a shield-like frame, surrounded by a floral vine and a meander border. The chest is equipped with a metal lock plate suitable for a padlock. The chest belongs tothe set of red painted furniture, purchased with the Chahar ger. Height: 53 cm; Length: 108 cm; Width: 39 cm
