Beskrivelse
The bow case and quivers were all handmade products manufactured by the bowyers and fletchers in a similar fashion to other decorated leather objects known and used by the Mongols. The cases were made of heavy grooved leather with decorated fronts. First the leather applications were added, and afterwards multiple studs and grooved details formed a variety of symbols of which rams’ horns and cloud-andflower motifs were the favourites. The bow case and quiver were kept in a belt strapped to the archer’s waist on the left side of the body, just behind the left arm. Photos: Kaare Grønbech, 1938.
