Wrestler's outfits
In Inner Mongolia, the traditional wrestler’s outfit consisted of a short-sleeved jacket, fit closely around the waist and cut low in the front so that the breast was exposed and with decorations on the back of powerful symbols, such as the lion for strength seen on the one, and bats for luck on the other. As trousers they wore two sets of leggings: plain white cotton underneath and on top a set of patched leggings, shown in two variations, both decorated on the outside with fancy applications in coloured silk. The outer leggings were suspended from the belt or sash by means of thongs. A short apron or loincloth made of silk as shown on the costume on the top was often added.
