No. 45 (Inventory no. 4673) (see front page no.1). One-edged knife. The blade is flat, slightly thicker at the haft. Out of the three nail-holes, one still retains its nail. L 17.2 cm Provenance: Amorgos. Bought by Chr. Blinkenberg on a journey to Italy and Greece during the spring of 1896 from Palaeologos in Athens. Provenance stated, with safety, to be from Amorgos (Ref. Introduction). Compare also catalogue no. 68. Others were found in 1896 (probably from Tsountas’ excavations). Published: K. At the transition to Mycenaean the back becomes curved as no. 45 (Kilian-Dirlmeier 1997, 52). Our knife is included in Kilian-Dirlmeier Variante 1 with DISTRIBUTION: Chora (Kephalovryson, Messenia), Lerna, Asine, Theben, Sesklo, Dodona, Amorgos, Mykene (Shaftgrave A, VI), Prosymna, Iglarevo (Kosovo) and Aigina.
