Beskrivelse

No. 39 (Inventory no. 12416). Bronze knife with one cutting edge. The top of the handle is broken. The handle zone (L 4. 0 cm) is clearly marked, flat with sporadically slightly raised edges. Three nails of which two are preserved. The slightly thick back of the blade curves somewhat – the edge has evidently been sharpened. L 15. 1 cm Provenance: Apsaktiras, Rhodes. Published: LINDOS IV, 1, 58 (Fig. 62) (no. 10) Comments: Sandars Type 1a. Compare a knife from Crete (Milojcic 1955, 155, Abb. 1, 2) dated by Milojcic to the period between 1250 and 950 BC. Tinos, Agh. Theklas (Despini 1979 (1981), 232-235, Pl 143). DATING: The type probably dates LH IIIA2 to IIIC.
