Beskrivelse

No. 11 (Inventory no. 14418 (Fig. 1)). Sword with gold ornament. Lower part of the blade is missing or reconstructed. The flanges on the grip are covered in gold foil. A circular nail hole is placed in the middle of the flat grip. Two rounded shoulders likewise covered in gold foil, mark the transition between grip and blade. The now lost bone/ivory of the hilt extended down to the shoulders where two gold plated nails kept the cover of the grip. The blade has a high, flattened midrib. No pommel was recovered. L 38.3 cm (as reconstructed). W 6.5 cm (at shoulders). Provenance: Allegedly from Dendra. Probably from Chamber Tomb 12 in Dendra.
